Please read the attached information carefully. If you choose to proceed with your reservation, we will assume that you are aware of our policies and will not be responsible if the client fails to read the information provided.

General Policies:

  1. 1. All tours must be paid for in full 100% prior to departure. There will be no refunds in the event of cancellation by the client. This policy is in effect in all cases and is non-negotiable. This is since the company has acquired the services of intermediaries in order to guarantee its package. (National Parks, private property, etc.)
  2. 2. All payments must be made directly to our bank account. Take A Break Costa Rica S.R.L. is not responsible if you make a deposit to a bank outside of this institution. If you would like to receive an electronic invoice, please request it from our representatives. It will be sent to you 24 hours after the full payment of your reservation.
  3. 3. If you have valuables or cash, it is your responsibility to take care of your property at all times. Neither the Company nor our employees are responsible for this and we will not be liable if you suffer any loss or damage.
  4. 4. In order to guarantee access to the destinations, the company is obliged to request full names, passports or identification numbers. (The National Conservation System (SINAC).
  5. 5. There is a maximum waiting time of 10 minutes at the starting point and no refunds for no-shows on the day of the activity.
  6. 6. We are not responsible for accidents or road closures that cause delays in the company's itinerary. External situations beyond our control will be rescheduled if possible, at the time. There will be no refund for such effects. The tour has already started the activity and the intermediary expenses have been covered, the company is not obliged to compensate for damages caused.
  7. 7. Your reservation may be rescheduled or you may request a 12-month credit if the company is forced to cancel the tour due to weather conditions, protests or road closures.
  8. 8. If you wish to bring additional people on the day of the activity, please check availability. However, please note that space is limited and the company is not obligated to accommodate them. Our ground transportation must comply with the Public Tourist Transportation Regulations and is subject to civil liability policies.
  9. 9. You are covered by the Tour Operators Civil Liability Policy, so you must follow the instructions of our coordinators and drivers. Otherwise we won't be responsible for any damage that may occur during our activities.
  10. 10. In our ground transportation, the consumption of alcoholic beverages, cigarettes and the use of vaporizers is totally prohibited. We ensure the comfort of our travelers. (Collective Routes).
  11. 11. On our day tours, travelers have the right to a backpack that does not exceed the dimensions of 46 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm and 10 kilos. We do not accept coolers unless it is a private tour.
  12. 12. If alcohol is consumed, it must be in moderation. If a client is under the influence of alcohol or any other dangerous substance, it is our responsibility to ensure the safety of the other clients. If a client causes inconvenience or verbal or physical violence to our staff or any other person participating in the activity, we will be forced to cancel the service provided to that person and their group. They will be dropped off at the nearest police station and must return on their own. There will be no refund of money in full.
  13. 13. The tour is free for children from 0 to 3 years old. Therefore, they will not be provided with meals. Children 4 years of age and older will have their own meals, just like the adults.
  14. 14. If you have allergies or special diet requirements, please inform us when you make your booking and we will do our best to accommodate you. However, the restaurants along the route are not obliged to cater for special diets, so you can bring your own snacks in case you have an ailment.
  15. 15. During the activity you will have access to a basic first aid kit. It should be noted that our staff are NOT DOCTORS, if the client wishes we can hire a private doctor or nurse, and this will be paid by the client at the time of booking.


If the service you have paid for has been canceled by you or due to circumstances beyond our control and you wish to request a detailed review of your case, please write to us at [email protected] with all relevant details, we will review your request and respond to you no later than 5 days after receipt of the email.
